Amazing Summer!

Sun. Sand. Sea. And all the rest of it. Amazingly, our summer was actually quite good in 2010 Memorable, you could even say. I’m sure that the following blog post is one that we can all relate to: http://www.eniginliaison.com/2010/06/21/best-summer-in-how-long/
One fantastic thing about having better summer’s has to be that they encourage us usually rained-on (and always angry about being rained-on, and why shouldn’t we be?) UK citizens to stay in our own country and not invade the beaches of Spain and France and the like. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course, it’s just that England is actually a great place to be when the Sun is shining down. Even Great Yarmouth and Hull. Well, when the weather is really hot that is…if you are really desperate… The only problem with the summer’s getting better is…maybe…that the world climate is getting worse. Now, scientists are still arguing amongst themselves over petri-dishes as to whether or not that is really the case, but one thing is for sure: our climate has changed quite a bit in recent years.
At one point you couldn’t even drive past Sheffield without getting soaking wet, but nowadays there is even the rare occasion when someone manages to get as far as Manchester without getting completely drenched. I never thought I would see the day. One result of these hot summer’s is that, incredibly, people who had never even felt the heat of the Sun on their skin – even people who thought that Sun burn was as mythical as the Loch Ness Monster – are getting Sun burnt. Now, that’s a bad thing of course, but at the same time it is quite a good feeling, because at least you’ve got something to show for the summer while it rains the rest of the year.
